It is arguably the Biggest, Most anticipated, most patronized and most significant Entertainment event on the Ashanti region Social calendar.
Organized in partnership with the Musicians the Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) and under the auspices of and the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, the Ashanti Region Music Awards scheme has grown into a Festival of Music and Entertainment that engages the entire region, Ghana and beyond.
It is produced by leading event management firm 3D Events Management with the under listed objectives:
- To honor and appreciate musicians and other music industry players who released work(s) that generated the most public excitement within the calendar year of the scheme.
- Provide an international platform through which the Ghanaian music industry can be accessed.
- To reward veteran musicians who have blazed the trail in the music industry.
The Ashanti Region Music Awards Festival is largely a people’s choice awards scheme that seeks to foster the development of the Ghanaian music industry by rewarding and celebrating musicians who have excelled in the seven main music genres of Ghanaian Music;
Gospel, Hip-life, Hip hop, Highlife, Afro Pop, Reggae/Dancehall and Traditional.
Their music should have been released and received prominence during the year under review.
The Award Scheme has become the barometer by which Ghanaian musicians measure their success each year and undoubtedly serves as an inspiration and aspiration to the entire music industry.
ARMA nominees will be based on key fan interactions as reflected on digital song sales, radio airplay, streaming, social activity and touring. These measurements will be tracked by AMA Nominations committee and its data partners, including bloggers, promoters, radio Djs, and entertainment critics
Assessment of Winners
Winners in the various categories shall be determined through two (2) key processes namely:
- Public Voting – 60%
Music lovers and the general public shall be given the opportunity to vote for their favorite artistes in the various categories by texting the artistes’ name to a designated short code. This mode of assessment is given a weight of 70% as a way of giving the public a voice to help ascertain a winner.
- Assessment by Panel (ARMA Board) – 40%
The Panel is made up of experienced industry players who will appraise the nominees for the various categories and award points/marks accordingly. This will be done using an objective and credible criteria. Points/Marks given by Panel shall be given a weight of 40%.
